4th World Congress on Agroforestry, Montpellier, 20-22 May 2019

The 4th World Agroforestry Congress is organized by CIRAD and INRA, members of Agreenium, with Agropolis International and Montpellier University of Excellence (Muse). Held every 5 years, and for the first time, in a european country (France), after the USA, Kenya and India.

Agroforestry is the deliberate integration of trees into crops and pastures. Recognized as a major option to combat land degradation, address climate change challenges and contribute to global food security, it has a major role to play in achieving most of the United Nations' 17 sustainable development goals.

The overall objective of the congress is to strengthen the links between science, society and public policy. It addresses all the major research issues in agroforestry.

Dr Emmanuel Torquebiau, CIRAD is Chairman of the Organising Committee.

Dr. Christian Dupraz, INRA, is Chairman of the Scientific Committee.
