instructions for use

welcome to the community

The goal of our community is to “stir encounters” to encourage the exchange of information, collective initiatives, collaborative work, etc. between all agribioscience players.

This community is first and foremost your community: here therefore is some “step-by-step” advice on finding your way and using it properly.

your profile

Once your registration has been confirmed, remember to complete your profile by adding a photo (square format) and a description: your job, your institution, the work and projects in which you are involved, your preferred topics, etc., in a word, everything that will help other members of the community to get to know you before making contact.
You can update this information whenever you want by clicking on the change button on your profile page.
Your Profile page (accessible via the Community tab in the main menu) is your dashboard in the community: here you will find your publications, news about groups in which you are involved and members with whom you are in contact.
You can access your profile page constantly simply by clicking on your profile image anywhere on the site.

your contacts

You can find out who is registered in the community on the registered page: clicking on one of them to gain access to his or her full profile.
You can invite the user to join your network by clicking on the link Invite xx to make contact: your invitation will appear in his or her messages and will be e-mailed. Clicking on the button My contacts on your profile page displays the invitations you have sent, those accepted and those awaiting confirmation.
Every member who has accepted your invitation, or whose invitation to make contact you have accepted, appears in the Contacts tab on your profile page.

your messages

Private messaging is available for all members of the community.
There is a link Send a message in each profile. Use this to send a personal message to the member in question.
You can also send a message to several recipients by typing several names separated by commas in the To field.
Lastly, you can send a message to all your contacts by entering “contacts” in the To field. All your messages - both received and sent - can be accessed by clicking on My messages on your profile page or in the user menu at the top of the page.

your publications

Clicking on the button Publish in the community in your profile page (or on the link Participate in the main menu) allows you to create different types of content which will be visible to the members of the community.

Article
You can use this function to post articles which you would like to share with the community Choose a title, then enter the text of your article. If appropriate, add a pdf, image or video: you have created your article.
You can opt to post this article to a group to which you belong. In this case, this content will supplement those already present in the group. This step is optional, however: if you do not attach the article to a group, it will nevertheless in the Publications tab on your profile page.

Media
You would like to share a photo, computer graphic, video or document with the community? This is the function to use. Like for the articles, you can choose whether or not to attach this publication in a group.

Use the button Publish in the community also to create working groups or themed groups. These are useful for organising your publications and reserving them for chosen members, if appropriate.

your groups

There are two types of group:
public groups and their contents can be seen by all members of the community and everyone is free to choose to join the group by clicking on Join the group,
private groups and their contents can only be seen by members who you have attached to the group.
You can create groups by clicking on the button Publish in the community in your profile page and then on the Public group or Private group link depending on circumstances.
Then assign a title to your group, describe its purpose and add an image. Register: your group has been created. It will appear from now on in the Groups tab in your profile as well as in the Groups page.

Click on the name of the group to access the page listing its contents. You can then add an article or some media. In this page, use the button Manage the group to add people directly (and possibly allow them to be group administrators like you).
Caution, if you have created a private group, you must without fail use this function to add participants.
Use the People link to manage the different members of the group, change their status and possibly exclude them from the group. All existing groups are presented on the Groups page; private groups are marked by a padlock icon in front of their names.
