At the crossroads of Human and Social Sciences and Geosciences, the laboratory develops a global approach that mobilizes human and environmental components, spatial dimension and dynamics of the studied systems. Urban systems are an object and a subject of favored study as part of an approach that defines itself as a "human ecology".
Urban systems contribute to environmental changes at different scales, now and in the future. Putting forward methods of measure and representation of geographical information, the research focuses on the dynamics of urban and territorial systems, contemporary landscapes, paleo-environments, daily and residential mobility, urban risks and pollution, territorial development.
