Agricultural research in France is sponsored by the National Agronomic Research Institute (INRA) and other bodies and agencies on specific and supplementary topics in agriculture: Institut de recherche en sciences et technologie pour l’environnement et l'agriculture (IRSTEA), Centre for the Development of International Cooperation in Agronomic Research (CIRAD) and the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Safety (ANSES).
