Training to meet the challenges of the 21st century in life sciences, health and the environment

Agreenium members develop original training programmes in the fields of food, agriculture, animal health, public health, the environment and their interactions with related fields of energy, chemistry or regional and landscape planning.

A full, comprehensive range of Master's and post-Master’s degrees is offered

Research-backed training

Training at the best international level in conjunction with the latest advances in cutting-edge research and relating directly to changes in society, to meet the current major challenges:

  • produce otherwise, effectively and sustainably;
  • rethink food to ensure food, nutritional and health security and equity;
  • incorporate all health aspects related to plants and animals, agriculture (including livestock rearing) and food: relations between animal health, plant health, human health and environmental health;
  • manage renewable natural resources (water, forests, soils, etc.) sustainably in a context of climate change;
  • think about the development of regions and landscapes from the viewpoint of demography pressure and growing urbanisation;
  • think about the uncertainty over the living world, especially in terms of risk management (health, natural, etc.);
  • contribute to the well-being and health of man in his environment.

This training-research-innovation continuum takes a variety of approaches into account:

  • integrative and multi-disciplinary, from the gene to the agri-system;
  • systemic, taking into account the different scales, from the molecule to the landscape;
  • regional, from local to global;
  • predictive, from the short term and localised (cell cycle) to the long term and at a broad scale (water and soil cycles, for example).

Diplomas sought for their skills and scope

Our training courses reflect the specific features of French education within the Grandes Ecoles (Higher Institutes of Learning):

  • students obtain solid scientific and technical knowledge
  • courses are enriched by the inclusion of economic, human and social sciences; backed by research,
  • they are incorporated in both the business world and the public sphere and are international in scope;
  • they are based on innovative educational ideas and on project work
  • they benefit from experimental plots (farms, vineyards, forests, experimental platforms, etc.) and scientific, technological and documentary equipment;
  • they are held on attractive, human-scale campus with a vibrant student life.

Our courses benefit from research and the expertise of certain of our members in education sciences.

Training themes in line with current affairs

Our “core business” themes cover the following major fields:

  • agriculture and forestry
  • food
  • animal health and welfare
  • regions and environment

We seek to include training and research in a dynamic of innovation to match society's expectations; the research and training activities must therefore contribute to the long-term competitiveness of economic, agricultural and agri-food activities and to public policies on shared resources.

We thus develop our training programmes around such topics as:

  • agroecology
  • one health
  • digital agriculture
  • green chemistry, etc.
