UP INRA 4 - Prairies and Forage Plants (P3F)

The objectives of the unit are to produce knowledge, references and tools to develop, through genetic improvement and the improvement of practices, prairial systems:
• more economical in inputs, through greater use of leguminous plants, particularly in associations;
• more sustainable in response to environmental constraints, in particular current and future climatic constraints and in particular drought, through the development of more suitable varieties and grassland mixtures;
• more sustainable in terms of their environmental impacts (carbon storage in the soil, N2O emissions, leaching, biodiversity).
