UMR 1048 - Science for action and development - activities, products, regions (SAD-APT)

Resolutely interdisciplinary, the work of the Sad-Apt unit deals with complex research questions on the dynamics of socio-technical systems and socio-ecological systems linked to the transformations of agricultural and rural worlds and spaces. This work is preferably based on research projects in partnership, in association with actors and organisations in the agricultural sectors and territories. Producing fundamental and applied scientific knowledge, the unit is interested in research issues rooted in the vivid questions of societies:
• contradictions and complementarities in the use of space and resources;
• expression of the multiple functions attributed to agriculture today in practices, systems of activity, organizations;
• environmental, health or cultural imperatives weighing on both production methods and innovation in the agricultural sector...

The unit is structured into four multidisciplinary research teams.

  • Urban Agriculture
  • Integrated Approach to Sustainable Development and Agriculture: knowledge, advice, public policies (AIDDA)
  • Reconciling Environment and Production in Agricultural Territories and Supply Chains (CONCEPTS)
  • Proximities
